How to turn the tables on restaurants that overcharge travelers
Reading time: 1 minute
Hey there,
Just a quick heads-up before we begin.
I’ve decided to change the structure of the newsletter to make it even more engaging, easier to digest, and quicker to read.
Instead of one long newsletter once a week, you’ll now get 6 shorter ones, delivered daily from Tuesday to Sunday.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for trusting me to bring value to your inbox.
Well, let’s get into it!
Financial Life Hack #12
In some countries, certain restaurants have both "tourist" and "local" menus. And, you guessed it, local menus often have cheaper prices.
When you get to the restaurant, politely ask for the local menu. It might feel a bit inconvenient, but a small hassle is worth it if it means avoiding the tourist markup.
Just use an app like Google Lens, ChatGPT, or any other translation tool you prefer to translate the menu with your smartphone camera.
Thanks for tuning in! Wishing you a fantastic day ahead—see you tomorrow!
